【摘要】:Thesepracticesmaybeusedtodeterminewhetherareverse-osmosisdeviceisfreeofleaksifthemechanicalintegrityofthedeviceistobeconfirmed.Theymayalsobeusedtodetectleaksinreverse-osmosisdeviceswhoseoperatingperformanceindicatesapossibleleak.Thesepracticesmaybeusedforeitherneworuseddevices.1.1Thesepracticescoverdetectingleaksinwhichthereisadirectcommunicationbetweenthefeedorconcentrate,orboth,andthepermeate.Severaltypesofleaksarepossiblewiththevariousconfigurationsofreverse-osmosisdevices.1.2TypesofLeaks1.2.1Withhollow-fiberdevices,feedorconcentrateleakage,orboth,intothepermeatestreambyleaksthroughthetubesheetandpastthetubesheetO-ringarepossible."Leaks"causedbybrokenfibersarenotcoveredbythesepractices.1.2.2Withspiral-wounddevices,leaksmayoccurthroughdamageofthemembranesurfaceitselfbypuncturesorscratches,byglue-linefailure,andbyO-ringleaksonproducttubeinterconnectors.1.2.3Withtubulardevices,leaksduetomembranedamage,tubeendsealleaks,andleaksfrombrokentubesorproductheadersarepossible.1.3Threeleaktestpracticesaregivenasfollows:SectionsPracticeA-TubeSheetandO-RingLeakTestforHollowFiberDevices6to9PracticeB-VacuumTestforSpiralWoundDevices10to12PracticeC-DyeTestforSpiralWoundandTubularDevices13to181.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
